St. Augustine’s

Who are we?

St. Augustine of Canturbury Community

St. Augustine is a mission community located in Carmel Valley, Central San Diego County. We worship in the St. Therese Chapel located on the eastern side of the Cathedral Catholic High School Campus. We invite you to join us for worship.

The liturgy at St. Augustine’s is in the Ordinariate Form of the Roman Rite. Sometimes referred to as the "Anglican Use," it is a form of the Mass in the Roman Catholic Church informed by the Anglican patrimony. The English Catholic tradition also uses Gregorian Chant, English Chant & Plainsong, with traditional English hymnody.

For older teens (14+) and adults, The Ordinariate Community offers the Evangelium Course for reception and/or Confirmation into the Catholic Church. This is also open to any adults who which to go deeper in their faith. Classes will be offered on Sundays at 10AM during the fall through the spring of each year. Learn More →

During the year the Catholic Church celebrates important feast days not just liturgically with Masses, but also with Processions, Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, Parish Potlucks, and educational events. St. Augustines has a ministry that coordinates these. In addition, we host Theology on Tap events periodically for adults over 21 years of age, featuring speakers of different backgrounds presenting on various topics.
